the State of Dreaming:
Not much to tell about this one. It took me about an hour or so. As always, I'm in it for the fun. Nothing quite like turning up the music and building a whole new world, with it's own people, places, and sights. It's a great escape
The base planet texture (for both planets) came from here: visibleearth.nasa.gov/view.php…
(NASA Visible Earth: Central Sahara). I really love the texture of that image; it works great, in my opinion, for simple planets. Other textures in this piece are some of my own cloud photos. This is my first time trying out these kind of stars. Not too sure what I think of them yet. Also almost forgot to mention, the font I used for the lower-right text can be found on dafont.com here: www.dafont.com/arista-2-0.font
On the surface, this piece is definitely lacking many details, and instead is soft, maybe even kind of hazy. In its calmness, it reminded me of a dream. Which then lead me to think, if this piece represents a dream (to me) what would a nightmare look like? I wonder if maybe I'll be able to make a contrast piece to this one, only with the tables turned. I think it would be neat to try sometime.9/25/2013: Obligatory Update
...Wait...a DD....I keep thinking this was a mistake and someone meant to feature someone else's work
In any case, I wish I had known that I had left the first "t" out of "State" in the name
Thankfully someone pointed it out to me
I'm always just a bit mystified when it turns out people like something I did on a whim. But I'm still truly thankful! Not to get melodramatic or anything, but it is quite an honor, and a nice motivator, to get me to continue trying to improve my skills so I can someday make something really exceptional. So many thanks out there to those who have favorited this or left me a comment, thanks to ^Shue13, and a big thanks to some of my awesome watchers and deviant friends for being such great sources of inspiration and support If you are interested in using this piece of art for any purpose, including featuring it elsewhere on the internet, please take note of the following text regarding copyright and acceptable use of this artwork:This image,"the State of Dreaming", was created for personal, nonprofit use only.
