"Long Distance" Artist's Description:

This is a lot more...blue than I had wanted...again. It might've just been how I was feeling. I made this one up a little while back, but didn't have time to upload it until now.

Gorgeous work... just gorgeous. This one is a perfect example of that oceanic theme I talk about sometimes. I see this one as a bubble rising up from the depths of a deep blue sea, rising towards a shimmering light source at
the surface. It's been a long way from the bottom, and the bubble- the planet- is anxious to make it out.

It's sort of like an allegory to emotion; the deep oceanic space could be a sea of negative emotion, and the light source could be a better, more positive place. Blue is the colour of sadness, white for joy, and the little rim of light
at the planet's far side would be ambition to escape and feel better. Amidst that, even at the dark side of the body, there is a rosy, magenta-coloured wash creeping up to the other side; perhaps the hope for brighter days to
come. :) This is a beautiful work full of feeling and a transition of mood.

Thank you so very much. I have to admit, my motives for this piece, my intentions, are quite similar to what you suggest here, about "the deep oceanic space could be a sea of negative emotion, and the light source could be a better, more positive place." Actually, that's pretty much exactly how I was thinking. Your insight and comments are excellent, as always. :) :thanks:

You put a lot of feeling and thought into your works; I find it so wonderful to see that sort of projection in art, and it gives me a good opportunity to exercise my skills in understanding symbolism and emotion in others' artwork.
It's a lot of fun, and leaves me feeling good. :)

You're always welcome, my friend^^
