OOooooo-- WOW, congratulations on the Daily Deviation!! :excited: You of all people are more than deserving of one- your beautiful work need not go unchecked! Oooh, I'm so happy for you!!

This is such a beautiful piece. It amazes me what you can do with a monotone colour palette; the lights and darks are splendid, they pop out everywhere, and a definite sense of depth and dimension is created. I've mentioned
before that sometimes your works looks as though they are deep under the sea; this is one of them; it looks as though the planetoid is floating up to the surface.

The textures on the planets' surfaces are just gorgeous, and the light coming off the upper pole clinches the title of the piece- it is wonderfully, spectacularly intense. :)

Thanks so much!!
I was a bit surprised to find I had gotten this DD, though. I often see the flaws in my work, and I tend to compare it to others' too frequently. There are some really amazing artists out there, ones I aspire to be like, and I feel a bit bad, like they should be recognized not me. But I am truly grateful for this of course :dalove:
You mention that sometimes my pieces look like undersea works. I was thinking about that: I never do that on purpose, but one of my great loves is the ocean and marine life. Perhaps I imitate its appearance without even realizing it because I admire it so much! :)
Thanks again :aww:

Heyy- the artist herself is her own greatest critic- there's a lot of truth to that! I believe it's important to compare for the sake of improvement, but it is so easy to get caught up in it-
I think the thing to do is appreciate your talent for how it is developing, take satisfaction in the efforts you undergo to improve, and not lose sight of your own art in the grand scheme! :)

I see a lot of that in your works. I think it's one of the best facets of your personality and interests you put into them, and the results are always stunning.
