"Dark Days" Artist's Description:
I'm sorry for the lame title It's partly based on this particular weekend for me (which at the moment might be leveling off), and partly based on a song by The Used.
It's really so dark, I have a hard time working on it, so I'm not sure exactly if I think it looks good. But for the most part it's okay
And I do recommend full view.
Standard fare for tools. Photoshop, Apophysis, Bryce, some satellite images heavily modified, and layers of upon layers.
for the past 2 days in a row, i'v gone through my deviations to check, as i had way too many.
and while looking through space ones, two in separate stacks stood out to me, this is one of them.
they were both yours, so i really like your space art, i think in this case, its the lighting, in my opinion you did it perfectly here, dark and moody.
i love how well the additional ringed planet is visible but not too "obvious" gives it a very realistic feel.
the lighting overall is great and the planet textures feel like they fit in very well, natural look.
i light my planets similar , nice flare! how do you do a flare like that?

well done. we never got that chat!
I have Knoll Light Factory in Photoshop and I combine those built in flares with some fractals and brushing.
I know, I'm sorry we weren't able to chat! Getting times to mesh was harder than I expected.
