"A Praise Chorus" Artist's Description:

I totally textured this to death =P
But it was a learning thing for me; I know more than I did before I made this, about composition, sharpening, detailing gasses, lights and darks, etc. It's just a stepping stone. But I do admit to liking some parts :)

I would appreciate a :+fav: if you download :)

I wish I could use fractals for nebulas, but I don't have a fractal program, or do I know how to get one for Mac :'(. But I digress, these clouds are beautiful I like them very much :)

There might be a version of Apophysis - a fractal program - for Mac. I'm not sure 0.o

Yeah, currently I have to paint them by hand or use cloud manipulations (which suck!). AND you are most certainly welcome :)

I think the stepping stones are some of the most important pieces
in an artist's gallery; they help the artist learn, make mistakes, and learn
from those mistakes. I can see a bunch of experimentism here, but it
all works so well!
You're a talent, ma'am, if I may say so :D

Stepping stones are definitely important; they seem to me to be the main way to get from one place to another learning with each step. And learning is what it's all about. I must say, sometimes I feel too much pressure is put on artists to create flawless works with no mistakes. But then, I've always thought though that only the artist has the right to determine what constitutes a mistake, and that's not a view everyone has. I guess what they say is true: everyone's a critic ;)

(Not that I'm saying you're a critic though!)

I'm bit dismayed to hear it looks as though there's a bunch of experimentation in this piece, as I don't feel I experimented at all; I used the same techniques I use in my other works and I had a plan process start to finish. But of course there's nothing wrong with experimenting.

Thanks so much for the comment!

There's too much pressure everywhere, not just on artists...
sometimes, the demands of the public and one's reputation
simply don't allow any room for the stepping stones which
are so important for the learning process. However, what
you say is true: beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. :)

Oh? Perhaps you've already gone beyond the experimentation here;
perhaps it was a trial that wasn't learned from, per say, but
contributed to experience. :D

Always a pleasure, dear friend.
